AUGUSTA, Ga. – Authorities say one person is dead after a shooting at University Hospital in Augusta, and a suspect is in custody.
The Augusta Chronicle reports the shooting occurred Tuesday on the seventh floor of the hospital.
Hospital spokeswoman Rebecca Sylvester told the Chronicle the shooting happened in a patient's room and involved two family members. Sylvester says the suspect surrendered to hospital security.
