Students and coaches with a junior varsity wrestling team at an Oklahoma high school have been suspended while police investigate what the school described as an "extremely disturbing" victimization of a student.

Norman Public Schools released a statement Thursday confirming the incident that involved students from Norman North High School happened on a bus returning from a tournament.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Jensen says a juvenile victim told police Monday that the incident happened Saturday. She declined to release further details, saying detectives were interviewing students.

School officials said they were notified of the incident Tuesday and immediately suspended two students and an adjunct coach responsible for supervising students. More students and a second coach were suspended later.

District officials didn't provide details on how many students were suspended or the nature of the incident.
