Ohio Cop Allegedly Assaults Youth Baseball Coach, Police Say

A 37-year-old Ohio police officer who has been on an extended medical leave, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting a youth baseball coach, Fox8.com reported.

Witnesses told police Matthew Collins head-butted 37-year-old coach Andrew Bagdonas, after the game.

When Bagdonas fell to the ground, Collins continued to assault him, Fox8.com reported.

It was not clear why the alleged assault happened.

Collins, who has been a Mentor police officer since 2003, was charged with assault.
