Obama backers disappointed over speech switch

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – President Barack Obama's decision to move his acceptance speech from an outdoor football stadium to the arena hosting the Democratic National Convention has disappointed some 60,000 people eager to hear him speak in person.

Many of them spent at least nine hours volunteering for the campaign or waited in long lines in the August heat in more than a dozen cities in North Carolina, South Carolina and other areas to get free tickets for Thursday's event.

Andrea Chambliss spent thousands flying to Charlotte from her home in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. She was volunteering for the Obama campaign to get her tickets to see Obama for the first time.

She says Obama's campaign knew it could rain for days and should have had a backup plan.
