NEW YORK – New York police Commissioner Raymond Kelly says an officer who fatally shot an unarmed suspect has been placed on restricted duty.
Kelly also said at a briefing Friday the sergeant who supervised the officer has been placed on restricted duty.
Police say the officer killed the unarmed 18-year-old drug suspect Thursday in the Bronx after a foot pursuit and a confrontation inside the victim's home.
The shooting of Ramarley Graham was the third time in a week a New York Police Department officer killed a criminal suspect.
Police said previously that marijuana was found in the home, but no weapon was recovered.
