North Carolina Central University officials gave an "all clear" after the campus was locked down due to an "active shooter," the school said on its Twitter account.
Police told WRAL that shots were fired, but no injuries have been reported.
"The NCCU campus is on lockdown. Please stay away from all windows and doors. There is a possible active shooter on campus," the alert said.
