CHICAGO – Chicago fire officials say one person has died and another has been injured after a shooting in Chicago's River North neighborhood.
Police and fire officials say they received a report of a shooting around 8:30 p.m. and found two people shot in the first block of East Grand Avenue.
Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva told the Chicago Sun-Times that a woman there was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and a man was found dead at the scene.
Chicago Police spokesman Thomas Sweeney says police are investigating. He did not immediately have further details
The newspaper reports that crime scene tape was set up around a Nordstrom in that block and police officers could be seen entering and leaving the store near the city's downtown.
