A grand jury has declined to issue an indictment against sheriff's deputies in the fatal shooting of a West Virginia man while searching his home for another man.

The Dominion Post of Morgantown reports (http://bit.ly/2c1nIeh ) that the Monongalia County grand jury concluded its term on Friday by recommending that no action be taken against the deputies.

David Romanoski was killed in November while a group of deputies were searching for another man suspected of armed robbery.

Police said at the time that as deputies were searching the residence, they encountered Romanoski, who had a shotgun and a handgun. Romanoski was shot during the encounter and later died at the hospital.

The man deputies were there to arrest later turned himself in to the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office.
