New York prosecutors Monday charged a mom and dad with treating themselves to more than $1 million from a trust created to pay for their disabled son's medical care.
Edwin Sanango, 39, and Marlene Romero, 37, allegedly dipped into the trust after the March 2008 death of their son, Eddie, who had been institutionalized since his birth in 1993.
The boy had the trust established after his parents won a $2 million negligence judgment against the hospital where he was born.
