Police are searching for a man who they say sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl in the play area of a Queens McDonald's.

The New York Post reported that police said the girl, who was not identified, was playing at the restaurant at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday when the man crawled into one of the tubular play structures and assaulted her. The man then fled the scene.

The child's mother did not realize anything was wrong until the child told her what happened inside one of the tubes in the play area, The Daily News reported.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s and was last seen wearing a purple short-sleeved Polo shirt and jeans, police said. He also has a lump or bandage on his forehead.
