MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – The latest on wildfires raging in drought-stricken California (all times local):
10 a.m.
A new wildfire in Northern California has killed one person and destroyed 10 homes.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says the blaze grew to 1,200-acres Sunday and is burning about 2 miles north of the community of Jamesburg in Monterey County.
Cal Fire says at least 10 homes were damaged or destroyed after the fire started Saturday afternoon.
Mandatory evacuations were ordered for residents along two roads. Evacuation advisories were issued for residents of Jamesburg and the nearby community of Cachagua.
The fire is 10 percent contained.

California fire officials say at least 1,400 homes have been destroyed by two Northern California wildfires.
California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection spokesman Daniel Berlant says damage assessment teams have counted 888 homes burned in Lake County.
Berlant says teams are getting access to affected areas as firefighters make progress but that the count is far from over. The fire was 53 percent contained Sunday.
He says another 535 homes were destroyed by a separate blaze burning in the Sierra Nevada foothills.
