Authorities say a man shot and killed two people at a Northern California apartment complex then stormed a police station where he smashed a window and glass door before officers subdued him with a stun gun.

Police said Tuesday 18-year-old Richard Ruben Calkins lost his gun while doing the damage at the Vacaville station.

Police spokesman Mark Mazzaferro says shots were fired in downtown Vacaville at about 1:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers found the bodies of two men who had been shot in their heads in an apartment. They also found a woman who was shot in the face and took her to the hospital.

Investigators believe the victims knew Calkins but have not released a possible motive.
