NEW YORK – A 19-year-old suspected of shooting into a packed New York City boardwalk in the summer heat is being held without bail on murder charges.
Iloune (ee-LOON') Driver also was arraigned in Brooklyn on a weapon possession charge.
New York Police Department Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Tuesday investigators were looking for at least one more suspected gunman but there could be more shooters at large.
Sixteen-year-old Tysha (TY'-shuh) Jones was killed in the melee, sparked by a beach brawl Thursday. She was hit in the torso and died later at a hospital. Four others were wounded, including a seaside cafe patron struck by a stray bullet.
Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang related. They don't believe Jones was the target.
A message left with Driver's attorney hasn't been returned.
