The Missouri suspect who was on the run after shooting two deputies and fleeing the scene early Friday, was fatally shot in a wooded area around the home where the initial shooting took place, Fox2Now.com reported.

The suspect was identified as Shawn Nims, who was wanted on a felony warrant. Shortly after 2 a.m., deputies were at a house in the neighborhood of Cedar Hill to search for Nims. Shots were fired at the deputies, who returned fire. Nims fled the scene.

Nims had been considered armed and dangerous.

Twenty-two-year-old deputy Nina Osia was shot in the left leg, and 43-year-old deputy Michael Toombs was struck in the left arm or shoulder. Both were hospitalized briefly, then released.
