Arizona police say a body found in a car off a cliff has been identified as a college student missing from New York, myFOXphoenix reports.

The body of 21-year-old Jessica Ronhock was found inside a a white Jeep Cherokee off a cliff about 25 miles south of Flagstaff on Saturday.

Ronhock was last seen in January by her roommate at Elmira College in upstate New York.

Ronhock reportedly left a note for her roommate claiming she had to go home for a "family emergency." However, her parents, who live in Massachusetts, said there was no family emergency and their daughter never arrived home.

Authorities tracked a series of purchases on Ronhock's credit card after her disappearance, and believed she may have been at a campground in Florida for a few days after her disappearance.

They also traced purchases on her credit card in Texas, and in both southern and northern Arizona.

Video footage from an inn showed a woman that appeared to be Ronhock. Police had believed she was traveling alone, but was making hotel reservations for two people.

Police say they are trying to figure out how long ago the car Ronhock's body was found in went off the cliff.
