Missing baby found OK after dad wrecks car in Ohio

A baby who was the subject of an Amber Alert out of Michigan has been found safe after her father crashed his car during a police chase in northern Ohio.

State Highway Patrol troopers in Ohio tell WNWO-TV in Toledo that the crash happened Monday on the Ohio Turnpike near the town of Fremont.

Police say the girl was taken by her father in Canton Township, west of Detroit.

Troopers in Ohio say they spotted his vehicle and stopped it before the driver took off and later crashed on the turnpike.

Authorities in Michigan tell The Detroit News that the 11-month-old girl is fine and was taken to a hospital as a precaution.

Authorities say the girl's father shares custody with the mother, and the two had been having domestic issues.
