LAKEVILLE, Minn. - Police charged 18-year-old Christian Rider with making terroristic threats after a telephone tussle with his father.

According to Lakeville, Minn., Police, the incident began when Rider’s father refused to pick him up from a friend’s house because he found nude photographs Rider had sent to his girlfriend via his phone, MyFoxTwinCities reports.

Neighbors said Rider had spent part of the previous summer learning how to shoot a bow and arrow with his father, but his dad probably never expected that his son would threaten to use the weapon against him.

On Saturday, police went to the home to break up an argument after Rider sent a text message to his father saying, “I’m going to kill you if you come anywhere near me. One of us will be going to the hospital when u get home.”

Investigators said Rider then knocked an arrow on a compound bow and waited for his father to come home, but when his father arrived, he stayed downstairs -- away from Rider -- and called police.

Rider was released from jail on $50,000 bail and is once again living with his family.
