MINNEAPOLIS – A former Minneapolis airport employee is accused of stealing weapons and hundreds of other items from passengers' checked luggage.
Authorities say 23-year-old David Vang of St. Paul is facing several charges, including 10 counts of theft of a firearm.
Court documents say hidden cameras were installed after police at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport received reports of thefts. Authorities say the video shows Vang removing items from baggage, then taking them to a parking ramp where his wife was waiting in a vehicle.
Investigators say 716 stolen items valued at more than $84,000 were found in his apartment.
Court documents don't list an attorney for Vang. Several phone numbers listed under his name in St. Paul have been disconnected.
