Minneapolis police shot a suspect believed to have been involved in the killing of a police officer Saturday morning. Police wrestled and eventually shot the suspect, who is believed to be dead, with one officer also injured in the scuffle, The Star Tribune reported.

Shortly before 7am local time on Saturday, an officer was shot and killed as he responded to a call reporting a car-jacking in St. Paul.

At 10:35am local time, police were fired upon by a suspect they believe was involved in killing of a police officer and the car-jacking.

The identity of the slain officer has not been released. There are no reports on the condition of the injured officer.

Police have deployed SWAT teams, patrol helicopters and K9s in the St. Paul, Minn. area to search for the other suspect in the shooting.
