A man and his wife whose dogs mauled a 46-year-old jogger to death near their Lapeer County home are facing sentencing.

Sebastiano Quagliata and Valbona Lucaj are due to be sentenced Tuesday afternoon in Lapeer County Circuit Court.

They were charged with second-degree murder but pleaded no contest in April to owning a dangerous dog causing death.

Craig Sytsma of Livonia was attacked by two cane corsos last July in Metamora Township, 45 miles northwest of Detroit.

Both cane corsos and another dog from the couple's property were later euthanized.

Lucaj, a native of Albania, and Quagliata, a native of Italy, could be deported after serving their sentences.
