SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) — Orange County prosecutors have charged 53 mechanics with fraud, including a man who appeared of the Speed Channel reality show "Chop Cut Rebuild."

Richard Evans was among those arrested Wednesday and Thursday and charged with felony insurance fraud after a sting operation. Evans was released on bail.

Officials say "Operation Straight Body" consisted of 152 undercover operations at Orange County shops from January to May. Investigators asked the shops if they could repair car damage using fraudulent insurance claims.

It was unclear if Evans had retained an attorney. A message left at his business was not immediately returned Thursday.
