SOMERVILLE, Mass. – A Massachusetts man and woman were arrested for allegedly stealing Christmas packages from porches and doorways, local police said.
According to the Somerville Police Department, Manuel Sheehan, 27, and Kristen Casey, 26, were placed under arrest Tuesday for receiving stolen property.
Acting on information from the Medford Police Department, Somerville officers stopped a vehicle that matched the description of a car suspected of involvement with the theft of packages from homes in the area.
The officers immediately noticed that the car was full of boxes marked for delivery to a variety of local addresses.
A subsequent search of their home revealed more than one hundred similar items believed to have been stolen from area homes.
Somerville detectives were working to identify the many victims and log the stolen property so that as many items as possible can be returned in time for Christmas.
Both Sheehan and Casey were due to be arraigned Wednesday in the Somerville District Court.
