Man who killed grandparents after they threw him a party faces life term at Seattle sentencing

A man who strangled and robbed his grandparents after they celebrated his release from prison faces a life term at his sentencing Friday in Seattle.

Michael Chadd Boysen entered a guilty plea Oct. 4 for the March 9 killings of 82-year-old Robert Taylor and 80-year-old Norma Taylor at their Renton home.

King County prosecutors did not seek the death penalty and life in prison without parole is the only other option for his aggravated murder convictions.

But lawyers for the 27-year-old man told the seattlepi.com (http://bit.ly/1c1GA6O ) they'll ask the judge for a 40-year sentence because of Boysen's history of mental illness and suicide attempts.

He was found with self-inflicted cuts when he was arrested at a Lincoln City, Ore., motel.
