CHICAGO -- Police said a man was killed early Saturday in Chicago when he was struck by a train after falling onto elevated train tracks.
The 21-year-old man, whose identity was not released, was hit by a Brown Line train at the Wellington Avenue station on Chicago's North Side, the Chicago Tribune reported.
He apparently fell onto the tracks as the train approached, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman said. He was found dead at the scene.
Power was cut to the tracks in both directions until around 3:00am local time, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Normal train service resumed at the station later Saturday, Chicago Transit Authority spokesman Steve Mayberry said.
