Police in Tennessee say a man who allegedly fired at officers has been shot and taken into custody following a chase.

Metro Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron says officers shot 41-year-old Adrian Robinson in the arm as he got out of a crashed car Thursday.

Officers began pursuing the car after a report of a disturbance outside a motel. Aaron says that at one point, Robinson dropped off his wife at a transmission shop.

Robinson was arrested shortly before 10 a.m. and was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries. A heavy police presence remained at the scene.

Media outlets report it's unclear whether anyone else was injured.

Police didn't immediately release the race of Robinson or the officers involved in the shooting.
