A 25-year-old man accused of attacking the driver of a Greyhound bus and causing it to go off Interstate 10 in Arizona has pleaded not guilty.

Maquel Morris of Los Angeles entered the plea Wednesday during an arraignment. He faces charges that include assault and endangerment after 24 passengers were injured.

Authorities have said Morris struck the driver and attempted to take control of the steering wheel west of Phoenix on Jan. 23.

The bus went into the median before passengers helped the driver regain control.

Morris has denied striking the driver and says he's sorry that passengers were injured. He says he really wanted to get off the bus.
