A grand jury in Louisville has indicted a man on murder and other charges in the death of a police officer during a vehicle chase last week.

Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney Thomas B. Wine said Wathaniel Lamont Woods was also charged in the indictment Wednesday with first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing and weapons and drug charges. The grand jury recommended a bond of $1 million.

Woods pleaded not guilty Monday to murder and other charges brought initially. He is set for arraignment next Monday on the charges in the indictment.

Woods is charged with killing Louisville Officer Nick Rodman, who died from injuries he suffered last week in a fiery crash resulting from the pursuit.

News media reported about 3,000 people gathered Tuesday for Rodman's funeral in Louisville.
