ACWORTH, Ga. – A Georgia man has been sentenced by a judge to three years in prison for fatally beating a small dog — a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix — because she urinated in his suburban Atlanta home.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/1RK4PrS) reported Wednesday that 22-year-old Sidney Taylor of Acworth pleaded guilty to slamming the dog's head on the floor and later beating the animal to death last year.
A warrant says the dog named Lilly was slammed with such force that it knocked out three of her teeth on April 20 of last year. It says Taylor then beat the dog days later, leading to the animal's death.
Cobb County police say no charges were filed until a necropsy was performed on the dog at the University of Georgia.
