A Connecticut man is facing 18 years in prison for his role in a killing that police solved by tracking a gold chain and medallion featuring the Disney character Scrooge McDuck.

The Hartford Courant reports (http://cour.at/1Je1VUB ) 24-year-old Hartford resident Lorenza Christian pleaded guilty Thursday under the Alfred doctrine to robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Under the plea, Christian is not admitting guilt but acknowledges the state probably has enough evidence to convict him.

Police charged Christian and another man in the killing of 25-year-old Miguel Rodriguez, who was shot on July 13, 2013.

Police found that his medallion of Scrooge McDuck had been sold to a shop within 30 minutes of the shooting.

Christian is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 5.
