All evacuation orders have been lifted as firefighters gain control of a large and powerful wildfire that burned one home and threatened nearly 2,000 others in Southern California canyons.
Orange County Fire Capt. Larry Kurtz says Wednesday that residents are returning home to neighborhoods in Corona southeast of Los Angeles.
Crews with support from a fleet of aircraft continue to douse hot spots in the fire that has charred 3 square miles (7 square kilometers) of brush. It's 20 percent contained.

Orange County Fire Capt. Steve Concialdi says there are no more open flames and officials are hopeful they'll be able to lift remaining evacuation orders for 600 homes in Corona later Wednesday. The fire has charred 3 square miles (7 square kilometers) of brush. It's 20 percent contained.
