Chicago police are continuing their search for additional evidence in and around a city park lagoon where a toddler's body parts were found over the weekend.

Police spokeswoman Janel Sedevic (SEHD'-ah-vik) says investigators would be back at Garfield Park Monday for a third straight day.

The search began Saturday after someone reported seeing what turned out to be a left foot floating in the lagoon. Officers later found a decomposed right foot and hand about 25 yards away.

Sedevic says officers recovered additional parts Sunday after investigators waded for hours through the shallow lagoon. They also used a K-9 unit on the banks of the lagoon. She declined to provide details.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Officer said Monday it's examining the remains. It also declined to offer details.
