FONTANA, Calif. – Authorities say a reporter has been shot in the hand with a BB gun pellet while giving a live report on Southern California weather.
Lt. Mark Weissman of the Fontana Police Department says KABC-TV news reporter Leann Suter (SOO'-tuhr) was hit as she gave the report near Interstate 15 at about 6 p.m. Saturday. She was taken to a hospital, but was not seriously injured.
Weismann says two boys ages 16 and 17 were arrested.
KABC President and General Manager Arnold J. Kleiner said in a statement that station officials are grateful Suter wasn't seriously hurt.
