CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Police are looking into a connection between the bodies of a woman and two children found in a San Diego suburban home and a man's fatal jump from a freeway.
Chula Vista police spokesman Bernard Gonzales says what has become a murder-suicide investigation began early Wednesday after the man's body was spotted down a slope beside a freeway near an abandoned car.
He says officers were concerned about the car's owner and ultimately tracked her to the home where the bodies of the woman, a boy and a girl were found. He says the children were in their early teens or younger.
Gonzales offered no details about their cause of death and declined to speculate on their relationship or their ties to the man who apparently killed himself.
