Kentucky Woman Pleads Guilty in Newborn Death

SHELBYVILLE, Ky. -- A Lexington woman has pleaded guilty to second-degree manslaughter in the death of her newborn daughter two years ago.

Police said 25-year-old Tonya Nicole Brown left the baby in a plastic bag in a trash bin in April 2008 in Shelbyville. The Lexington Herald-Leader reports Brown also pleaded guilty Tuesday to tampering with evidence.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 11.
