NASHUA, N.H. – A New Hampshire judge has refused to move the murder trial of the second defendant in a 2009 home invasion and machete attack.
Superior Court Judge Gillian Abramson also said Monday she won't restrict what prosecutors can say about 21-year-old Christopher Gribble in their arguments to the jury.
Gribble's lawyers wanted prosecutors barred from describing the crime as a slaughter or Gribble as a cold-blooded killer, as they did during Steven Spader's trial. Spader was convicted.
Gribble has admitted he hacked Kimberly Cates to death and maimed her 11-year-old daughter in their Mont Vernon home, but he claims he was insane at the time.
