MARICOPA, Ariz. – An Iraqi man charged with detonating a homemade explosive device outside a federal building in Arizona now faces additional charges, including first-degree murder in a previous killing.
Authorities say Abdullatif Ali Aldosary is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and two firearms counts in the Nov. 27, 2012, killing of 26-year-old Orlando Requena at a grain facility in Maricopa, about 35 miles south of Phoenix.
Authorities say the suspect knew the victim, but they declined to discuss a motive.
Aldosary also faces 18 counts, including 14 attempted murder charges, in the Nov. 30 bombing outside an Arizona Social Security Administration building. No one was injured in the blast.
Aldosary initially faced five federal counts to which he pleaded not guilty. It wasn't clear if Aldosary had an attorney for the state charges.
