Inmate overpowers guard, escapes from eastern Illinois jail

KANKAKEE, Ill. – Authorities in Illinois say a convicted murderer who escaped from jail may be traveling with a 15-year-old girl.

The Kankakee County Sheriff's Office issued an alert Wednesday for Savannah Bell. They say she "may be in the company" of Kamron T. Taylor.

The 23-year-old Taylor was awaiting sentencing when authorities say he beat a guard into unconsciousness, taking his keys and uniform and speeding off in his SUV early Wednesday.

Chief Deputy Ken McCabe says he's not sure of the relationship between Bell and Taylor, but that she should be considered in danger.

Police say Taylor should be considered armed and dangerous.
