SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. – Authorities say a suburban New York woman whose husband is accused of choking her has died.
Theresa Gorski of Sleepy Hollow was taken off life support on Wednesday.
Her husband, Christopher Howson, had been charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree strangulation. Authorities say he will face upgraded charges.
He's being held in the Westchester County jail.
Police said the 49-year-old suspect attempted to strangle his wife in their home early Saturday. They say he then called 91.
Police responded and found the 47-year-old woman unresponsive and in cardiac arrest.
The Journal News says the couple's two daughters, ages 5 and 8, were home at the time.
Police had no prior record of domestic incidents involving the couple.
