Hundreds of police officers from around the country are in western Pennsylvania to pay tribute to an officer killed while responding to a domestic dispute.

The funeral for St. Clair Township Officer Lloyd Reed is being held at the Cambria County War Memorial, a hockey arena in Johnstown.

Ray Shetler Jr. is charged with fatally shooting the part-time officer after he arrived at Shetler's home in New Florence on Saturday night.

Police say Shetler insists he didn't know Reed was a police officer and fired back when Reed shot at him as he left home with a hunting rifle.

State police say Reed fired when the 31-year-old suspect ignored commands to drop the weapon.

The 54-year-old Reed lived in Hollsopple. His family has asked for privacy.
