Hundreds of mourners have filled a Chicago church for the funeral of six family members found dead in their home earlier this month.

Six caskets topped with flowers spanned the altar of St. Gall Catholic Church on Sunday. The Chicago Tribune reports about 500 attendees were there to remember the victims: 13-year-old Leonardo Cruz, 10-year-old Alexis Cruz, 58-year-old Rosaura Martinez, 32-year-old Maria Herminia Martinez, 62-year-old Noe Martinez Sr. and 32-year-old Noe Martinez Jr.

Police have said they believe the family was targeted and the killings were not a random act of violence. They have not named any suspects or a motive, and an investigation is ongoing.

The victims' bodies were to be flown to Mexico for burial.
