Girl recovers after being struck by police vehicle

SALT LAKE CITY – A 13-year-old girl is recovering from serious injuries suffered when she was struck by a police vehicle in the Salt Lake City suburb of Holladay City.

Investigators say the girl was crossing a street to meet her father in a dimly lit residential area with no crosswalk when she was struck by the Unified Police vehicle on Friday night.

She was taken to Primary Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition with injuries not considered life threatening.

Police say her father was in a parked car waiting to pick her up when the accident occurred.
