ATLANTA – Prosecutors say a former Atlanta area elected official has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.
Federal prosecutors said in a statement Monday that former Roswell city council member Kent Igleheart pleaded guilty to four counts of producing child pornography and one count each of receiving child pornography and possessing child pornography.
Prosecutors say the 54-year-old man presented himself online as a teenage boy and engaged in sexually graphic conversations with teenage girls and persuaded them to send him sexually explicit photos of themselves.
The FBI investigated after a 17-year-old girl contacted police in October 2016. She said she had been communicating online since she was 13 with someone she thought was also a teenager but whom she had discovered was Igleheart.
Igleheart is scheduled to be sentenced in March.
