Fire officials: 4 children fall through ice into pond in Maryland; 2 in critical condition

LANSDOWNE, Md. – Fire officials say four children have been taken to hospitals after they fell into an icy pond in Maryland's Baltimore County.

Fire officials say two of the children were in critical condition and two were in serious condition. According to authorities, the children fell through ice into a pond Sunday afternoon at a park near a high school.

Authorities say bystanders were able to pull three of the children out of the water, while the fourth needed the assistance of a county rescue crew.
