Feds Arrest Virginia Man for Threatening to Bomb D.C. Metro Station on Facebook
Federal authorities have arrested a 26-year-old Virginia man after he allegedly said on Facebook he was going to set off bombs on the D.C. Metro System.
Awais Younis was arrested on Dec. 7 after the FBI was alerted to threats by an informant before a plot was developed, according to the Washington Examiner.
Younis, who also goes by the names Sundullah "Sunny" Ghilzai and Mohhanmed Khan, was charged in federal court for making threatening communications.
According to an FBI affidavit, the Afghan-born Younis said he could also put a bomb under a sewer head in Georgetown to "produce the greatest number of casualties."
