The family of a man killed by police during a traffic stop in December is calling for a federal investigation into the shooting.

NJ.com reports (http://bit.ly/1LpJe4o ) that the mother and family of Jerame (JEH'-raym) Reid gathered at a home in Bridgeton, New Jersey, on Saturday, saying they will seek a federal civil rights investigation.

The move comes days after a grand jury voted to not file charges against two Bridgeton police officers who shot and killed the 36-year-old Reid following a traffic stop.

Reid's mother said justice was not served. A community activist said he will ask New Jersey's federal prosecutor to review the case.

The two officers had ordered Reed to remain in the stopped vehicle. They shot at him after Reid exited the car.
