The family of a 14-year-old cancer survivor allegedly bullied by one of her peers say they want the student to be held criminally responsible, MyFoxBoston.com reports.
Justine Williams, who lost her leg to cancer, claims she was routinely tormented by a classmate at North Andover Middle School in North Andover, Mass. Williams says she received more than 90 anonymous text messages that she described as threatening and sexually explicit.
Justine told the station in an interview that some of the messages included threats of "rape" and harm to her family.
The station reports that the alleged bully, who turned out to be the girl's best friend, confessed to sending the texts. The girl, whom police have not named publicly, was ordered to do 20 hours of community service as well as attend 8 to 10 therapy sessions, according to the station.
But Justine's family is not satisfied with the punishment and told the station that they want to see the alleged bully criminally charged.
