A former Minneapolis police officer has pleaded guilty to a string of robberies.

Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Tuesday that 29-year-old Timothy Carson has pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery.

A CVS pharmacy, a Marathon gas station and a man sitting in his car were among the targets in the robberies that happened in Dakota County from mid-December through early January.

They aren't the only robberies Carson has been accused of.

He was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for another string of robberies in Hennepin County. That sentence will be served concurrently with an eight-year federal prison term for an Apple Valley bank robbery in January.
