Police in Indiana say a Pennsylvania man faces charges for lying to officers when he was found injured three days after a crash that sent the SUV he was driving down an embankment, killing his girlfriend.

Indiana State Police say a warrant was issued Wednesday for 39-year-old Kevin Bell of Dover, Pennsylvania. Police say they haven't located Bell, who was released from an Indianapolis-area hospital earlier this week.

A phone message left by The Associated Press at Bell's Pennsylvania residence seeking comment Thursday morning wasn't immediately returned.

Police say Bell lied to a trooper about how he was injured and didn't initially tell officers he was in a crash or that his girlfriend, 37-year-old Nikki K. Reed of Seymour, Indiana, was dead inside the SUV.
