Defense attorneys for a man charged with strangling a Pennsylvania pharmacist and his girlfriend hope to convince a jury that another man killed the victims.

Prosecutors allege Hugo Selenski and another man, Paul Weakley, tortured Michael Kerkowski as part of a robbery, then killed him and his girlfriend, Tammy Fassett.

They say the two men then buried the victims behind Selenski's house north of Wilkes-Barre, where authorities also found at least three other sets of human remains.

Selenski's lawyers are calling witnesses they hope will show that Weakley killed the victims alone.

Weakley pleaded guilty in federal court. He was spared the death penalty in exchange for his testimony against Selenski.

A business owner who used to employ Weakley told a jury Friday that he had a reputation for lying.
