Police say they arrested a man and woman accused of beating up a blind Salvation Army bell ringer outside New York City Saturday, ultimately tossing his kettle at him.
The suspects, 30-year-old Juan Rodriguez and 21-year-old Audrianna Wignal, were at a burger restaurant in White Plains when they accused the bell ringer of cutting in line, WCBS reports.
Rodriguez knocked the 41-year-old man to the ground and punched him while Wignal kicked him, police say. Then Rodriguez allegedly hurled the kettle, hitting the bell ringer in the head.
Police arrested both suspects on assault charges. Doctors reportedly treated the victim at a nearby hospital for injuries to his head and face.
